There are already thousands of running blogs out there. So why am I starting another one? The truth is, this blog isn’t just for others – it’s for me. It’s my way of holding myself accountable, staying consistent, and documenting my journey as an amateur runner with big dreams and a busy life.
In the past, I’ve always struggled with consistency. Whether it was training for a race, sticking to a fitness routine, or even maintaining healthy habits, I often found myself starting strong but losing momentum over time. As someone with ADHD, staying disciplined has always been a challenge. I’d get excited about a new goal, dive in headfirst, and then – life would happen. Work deadlines, family responsibilities, or just a lack of motivation would throw me off track. But this time, I want things to be different.
This blog is my way of holding myself accountable. By sharing my journey publicly, I’m creating a sense of responsibility – not just to myself, but to anyone who decides to follow along. I’m not here to pretend that I have it all figured out. In fact, I’m pretty sure there will be plenty of ups and downs. But that’s exactly what I want to document: the real, messy, and sometimes frustrating process of trying to become a better runner and a more disciplined person.
Every week, I’ll share updates on my training, reflections on balancing running with work and family, and insights into how ADHD affects my mental health and motivation. I’ll also write about my race preparations, the lessons I learn along the way, and the strategies that help me stay on track. This blog won’t just be about the highlights – it’ll also be about the struggles, the setbacks, and the small victories that keep me going.
My goals for this blog are simple but meaningful. First, I want to stay accountable. By writing about my training and goals, I hope to create a sense of responsibility that pushes me to show up, even when it’s hard. Second, I want to use writing as a tool for reflection. Running isn’t just about physical fitness for me – it’s also about mental clarity and growth. Third, I hope to connect with others who share similar struggles or interests. Running can be a lonely sport, but it doesn’t have to be. And finally, I want to grow – not just as a runner, but as a person who can stick to their commitments and learn from their mistakes.
This blog is my promise to myself – to show up, even when it’s hard; to keep going, even when I feel like giving up; and to share my journey, no matter how messy it gets. If you’re reading this, thank you for being part of it. Let’s see where this road takes us.
